ULS Installs Fr. Frank as 2nd President

2013 marked the birth of the second University President in the 60 years of existence of the University of La Salette. The successor of late Fr. Romeo Gonzales, who was behind the undeniable growth and success of the university, is a rooted Salettinian from Aurora, Isabela. Fr. Franklin G. Picio, MS, PH.D.
Fr. Franklin, popularly known as “Fr. Frank,” is indeed a living testimony of Luke 16:10, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much..” after being the Vice President for Finance and Administration for 13 years since 1997, he is now leading the institution as the president; installed on September 20, 2013. Prior the investiture and installation was a Eucharistic celebration led by Most Rev. Diosdao A. Talamayan, D.D., S.T.D.,PH.D., Archbishop Emeritus, Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, together with his co- celebrants. Rev. Fr. Rosanno P. Soriano, MS, MA, the provincial Superior of Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, and the other diocesan and religious priests.


The elegance carried by the faculty and staff colored the ambiance of the Old Gymnasium, perfect for the mood of success and fulfillment. Fr. Soriano led the installation of Fr. Frank who was presented by Dr. Levita Manglapus-Castro, the Vice President for Academic Affairs. It was then followed by the traditional presentation of the University Mace by the traditional by the Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education, Dr. Evelyn Pascua, CESO; the reading of Philosophy of Education, Vision and Mission of the ULS by Rev. Fr. Pedro Q. Dolar, MS, MA; the presentation of the University Medallion by Rev. Fr. Manuel Medina, MS; the presentation of the University Ring and the Reading of the President and Administration of the Oath of Office by Hon. Nona Ricafort, Ph,D.,CESO.

Fr. Frank, the second University President , gave his inaugural address with a heartwarming gratitude to God and to those whom he walked with in making where he is now; leaving a vow of excellence before the faculty and staff, the Administrative Board, the Board of Trustees, the Presidents of the different universities, the School Heads of Colleges and Committees, the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, the CHED Director and Commissioner, the student leaders, where the visitors, the President’s family and relatives, and the whole University of La Salette.
