Three Salettinian Graduates are TOSP Regional Finalists

                After accomplishing the nomination forms that includes their personal data, academic performance and achievements, character and value profile and leadership and social abilities, three Salettinian grads make it to the Regional Finalists of Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP). Kevin Dulay, BS Information Technology, Michael Magaoay, BS Civil Engineering and Princess Samaniego, BS Business Administration along with 19 more finalists were chosen to be Region II’s finalists for the National Search.

                Honed in their leadership, spiritual, community service and academic aspects, they were titled to represent the university in the annual search. As in the preceding years, University of La Salette consistently produces Regional and even National Finalists in the said search.

                The search for outstanding students of the Philippines is an annual recognition of college graduates who have not just excelled academically, but have also dedication in sharing their talents and leadership abilities. The said search is funded by the RFM Corporation in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education, Philippine Long Distance Company, National Bookstore and the TOSP Alumni Community. 

SEC Spearheads Gawad Parangal 2015

The Student Executive Council, the highest governing student organization in the university spearheaded the 4th Gawad Parangal 2015 held at the University Auditorium last April 15, 2015.

 Geared with the theme, “Celebrating a Blessed and Successful Year of Leadership”, the Salettinian outgoing and incoming student leaders participated in the Annual Gawad Parangal. Among the guest of honors in the said event is former SEC President, Balie N. Carabacan,RPT, who gave an inspirational message to the student leaders. Moreover, the said event paved way to the presentation of newly elected SEC Officers, Departmental Governors and the newly appointed SEC Adviser, Engr. Edwin Louise Tumangan.

 

                Symbolic transfer of responsibility by the Outgoing and Incoming President of SEC, a salute to 2014-2015 leaders and awarding of the outstanding organizations were the highlights of the said event. As a result, the Most Outstanding Departmental Council and Most Outstanding Organization were awarded to the Association of Criminology Students and Philippine Institute of Civil Engineering Students, respectively. 

556 Graduates Marched; 6 Cum Laude Top the List

A total of 556 candidates for graduation were finally confirmed as graduates of University of La Salette during the 62nd Commencement Exercises held at the University Gymnasium, April 11, 2015.

With the theme, “with faith, in service of the poor”, this year’s graduation exercises was graced by Dr. Alfredo M. Dimaano, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of Graduate School of St. Joseph’s College of Quezon City.

                Royce Arvin De Vera- AB- Journalism, Michael Magaoay- BSCE, Khrizelle De Guzman- BEED, Jen-Jen Mendoza- BSCE, Saniata Balinbin- BSEd and Nikko Bayang- BSA are the top students of the year being hailed as Cum Laude. Meanwhile, meritorious citations and different special awards were given to deserving students who qualified and was able to submit necessary documents for Academic and Co- Curricular Awards.

                The breakdown of numbers of graduates per course is as follows. Bachelor of Laws- 7, BSArch- 8,BSCE- 20, BSCoE- 11, BSEE- 4, BSCrim- 20, BEED- 20, BSED- 19, ABJourn- 8, ABPolSci- 3, ABPsych-4, BSSW- 18, BSIT- 17, BSA- 26, BSBA-FM- 83, BSBA-HRDM- 13, BSBA-MM- 45, BSBA-OM- 7, BSHRM- 56, BSOA- 1, BST- 3, AssocOA- 1, BSN- 23, BMLS- 80, BSPharm- 38, BSPT- 2, BSPH- 13 and DM- 6.
